A Florida teacher hung a Black Lives Matter flag outside of her classroom and then refused administration's orders to remove it. It is going to court. Having taught, and having had education law classes, I fully expect her to lose. I do admire her. I hope, if she likes her job, that she doesn't lose it. When Pennsylvania passed a law requiring the pledge or singing of the National Anthem (my school never required it), I had my own, fully legal, protest planned (the State Supreme Court nullified the law). I was going to open my door and have my homeroom sing their lungs out in any key they wanted.
While I hope she wins, (I doubt she will) , the resultant publicity may force the school district to back down. The story tells of a systemic attempt to marginalize the needs of the students in the school, but that is already evident with them retaining the Robert E Lee name to a school that is 80% black.
My hope as well.
