One of the central elements of the Big Lie is the complaint about the "cities burned down by BLM". Unpacking that... While it is true that some buildings were looted and burned in the aftermath of BLM protests, that leaves out how the BLM protests were always peaceful until the police began rioting. The over-reaction of the police and the resulting chaos provided the diversion and cover for looters. Essentially no connection has been documented to link the BLM protesters with the looters, but it is known that the white supremacists used these events as opportunities for arson that could then be blamed on non-whites (or incidents like Kyle Rittenhouse). Umbrella-man is an example.
