I can find decisions I don't agree with from every single AG, but that is a bit beside the point here. This current guy, not even approved by the Senate, is completely partisan in all the worst sense.

It has been limping along. Part of it seems to me to be that some key ingredients to the federal government functioning have been merely tradition and political etiquette rather than etched-in-stone rules. It just took Newt Gingrich's 1994 "Contract with America" movement to throw etiquette out the window. The cheating, voter disenfranchisement, and the robber-baron-esque thievery has only snowballed from there. With a conservatively tilted court, they were able to win "Citizens United," allowing unfettered and largely un-tracked money to influence elections, so now wealth equals having a political voice above anyone without means.

I want Canada's national ethic, more or less. This American worshipful, unquestioning fixation on capitalism and it's handmaiden, materialism, combined with Wild West "rugged individualism" mythology that blames the victims of financial misfortune and scoffs at many basic ideas of what a social safety net should be, ...It all makes for a clusterfuck made only worse by our Puritan fundamentalist cultural heritage being weaponized into a powerful means for duping the faithful into supporting the crooked Machiavellian politicians. (Well....in so many words, anyway) Bleh!!
