A reality! If a person doesn't want the to face the consequences of telling the truth---- take the option of not telling the truth.
"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." - Mark Twain
The option to avoid telling the truth is slippery at best unless it was a very extraordinary situation.
At the end of the day, facing consequences is one of things that defines us. Otherwise we don't take ownership of our decisions.
You are encouraging people to lie by saying:
"! If a person doesn't want the to face the consequences of telling the truth---- take the option of not telling the truth.
Not telling the truth is lying. There is lying by omission, too.
There is always the third option of just S(ing)TFU
Lie to me and any relationship that we have is terminated.
The most common lie told in relationships is, "Believe me, I would never lie to you."
Why are you encouraging people to lie? Lying is despicable.
So you have never asked someone you care about,
"Does my Bum look big in this?"
Because if the answer was not
"I'm not touching that one with a ten-foot barge pole,"
you've probably been lied to.
"Encourage?" WHERE did you get that strange idea?
I settle for authentic.
Lies are just to avoid long explanations and back stories.
It seems most of my lies are by omission.
I'm "practically" honest.
"If one has to tell the truth- it's hardly worthwhile talking."----- but that's supposed to be a joke!
During WW2- the resistance could either tell the truth--- or lie to fight another day. But we are not talking about, for example, Donald John Dump- he does not have the ability to tell the truth about even the most minor detail.
Not for me! To me, truth is everything, always. And I don't care if someone else doesn't want to hear it!
So you are talking with a Russian soldier-slob, and he has a monstrous gun, his question: "Are my noble friends murdering anyone?"
