I am so lucky to live here in Central Texas! There is so much wildlife and it sometimes has a wilderness feel to it.
I went to Pedernales State Park for the first time just to do a little hiking. Lovely and unspoiled!
This photo was taken at the front of my house. It’s one of the few surviving Yucca blooms as the deer tend to bite off the flowers before the actually bloom! I don’t know why the photo is flipped and can’t seem to fix it.
I call this photo “yucca at dusk”

Beautiful pic of the yucca. The pic's being turned the wrong way is something going on with the site.

Nice shot of the Yucca. Even though I live nowhere near Texas I also have Yucca's and the last time they were blooming they looked like this one. I always wondered if this was the typical bloom for this plant.. Now I see it is.

I agree with you "lucky" assessment. I have been learning what I can about the native plants gardening movement, and love the online Ladybird Johnson plants reference database. And I keep coming across plant listings native to central Texas. Louisana isn't exactly cental Texas, but I figure I am close enough to borrow some of your natives. 😉. In fact, one of my favorite flowers in my own garden is native to central TX. Savia Farinacea. Super easy to grow, propagates with ease, perennial that the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds all go crazy for! 🥰

The photo flip is a quirk of the site not anything you did.

Nice photo!

There are quite a few very nice state parks very close to you, the ladybird wildflower range just up from the ranch is one of my favorites.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
