Out in the garden picking some berrys. Strawberries are about done, 26 quarts frozen. So some weeding and picking over whats left in the strawberry bed. Decided to fire up the oven and for some short cakes..yeah the whipped cream would have been desirable....
Excellent as it is, though.
The dough is a standard baking powder shortcake recipe, but i always use a tablespoon + of bp to 2 rounded cups of flour, and increase the 1 tablespoon white sugar with equal part brown sugar.
Yum, payback for hoeing weeds...lol

Frigidaire. It has been a really nice stove. It is 9 years old now. I love the induction burners on the right. They get the most use. The left burners are radiant are ok but when turned off stay hot long time. The control pad is seeing some wear but it works very well as long as the operator does...
Gave me an idea. I should try a SB mix using GF flour.

They go fast. Lol 13 yr old and a 7 yr old, 3 adults. But yeah have a big side by side and a standard upright freezer. We just used the last bag from last year, plus still have 3 cases of jam. Still have frozen blueberrys left. Blueberry jam this year. Yeah we work it, it feeds us....i just hope we get a break from all the rain, been a wet june so far.
