Things by the water side that delight in June. Osmunda regalis, the Royal fern, is five feet high and showing its sporing bodies that look almost like fading flowers, though of course being a fern it does not flower. Primula florindae with its heavy cinnamon scent, and Carex pendula the tall, four feet, weeping rush.

Rush, one of the big three - grasses, sedge's and rushes. I try to have a majority of all three in one garden that is wet in winter and dry in summer. Really like the last one.
