My little garden is pretty happy this year, along with the trumpet vine! One of the hummers was hovering around me just after this photo, I think wanting me to leave his blossoms. The raggy ground nearby will soon be a woodchip pathway.
The leaf lettuce and little purple kale grow in so quickly I can share salad with the neighbors. The Chinese Red Noodle Beans that I put in for fun are reaching past the 6' fencetop; the closer pic was taken just 4 hrs after the first, with 3" growth -- yikes!!
Jack's magic bean stalk grew that fast too. Watch out for the giant ogre.
Oh, nooo, what have I done???!!!!
My grandmother had trumpet vine in her yard, it was a challenge to keep it from taking over her yard.
It is a monster! I hack it all back in the fall, have to keep trimming back 'reachers' til late August, and pull up shoots several feet away. But the bees and hummers love those stunning flowers, and the whole thing shades my bedroom window from the south, so it's a win .

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
