Colour everywhere in the garden now, with a super wealth of peacock butterflies, on Buddleja and Inula. While the Sweet Peas are now coming out, these are the less often grown perennial type, which come up every year, they do not have a scent like the annual form, but they are much less trouble.

This butterfly must be a product of Japanese kawaii. If you look at it in just the right way it appears as an extremely endearing, sweet charcter with the most soulful eyes. Okay maybe not a product of kawaii, but possibly an inspiration for the style? I can see how that could be.

Those butterflies earn that name. Our Buckeyes are something like that but no where near this showy. Looking good!
