First 2 pieces of Mulberry run through the saw and planer. The smaller of the two might make a nice tomahawk handle. The other has some interesting grain..... knife handles, maybe a bowl or two. Other pic is of a wild cherry tree felled to clear a path for agricultural equipment. Should be able to get 3 or 4, three foot sections out of it......
This is "winter harvesting" for me... "kind of" gardening. And I can play outside with chainsaws.
Be careful of the saw. I once met a surgeon who stated that he cut both hands off with one. I suspect more likely that he failed to pay his gambling or cocaine debts or killed the wrong patient.
Fantastic grain & colour. If cut as veneer and then made into a large marquetry wall panel !?
Interesting idea Bear!
@bigpawbullets I once, nearly 60 years ago when a very early teenager, I made marquetry pictures for 3 or 4 years. Hence my appreciation of the art form, complexity of wood veneers and their aesthetic beauty.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ that mulberry - it is stunning!
Interesting stuff Heidi. And hard as a rock.
@bigpawbullets are youu going to make a bowl out of it?
@Heidi68
Not sure Heidi. It needs to dry out a bit. It'll go in my wood stash for a month or so.
@bigpawbullets please be sure to let me know what you end up deciding to make out of it (and the walnut). Can't wait to see the final pics.
