It is getting to the hight of the rose season now in the UK and the and the garden is full. This one is one of my favourites, called 'Complicata'. You can not tell from the photo alone, but the flowers are the size of soup bowls.

Absolutely gorgeous color!

Looks very similar to a native rose here (which can become invasive - which it is doing into my front garden). It's called the Nootka rose.

The flowers are not as big as your, though.

You look a bit younger there Jack.

I also thought of the Nootka!

Lovely. Are they fragrant?

KateOahu Level 8 June 15, 2022

No sadly they are not, but I do have R. Alba ' Celestial' which is a pink and scents the whole garden.

@Fernapple lucky you!

I was there four years ago at this time, the roses and wisteria were magnificent.

Where in the UK did you go ?

@Fernapple I was mostly in a village near Milton Keynes with brief stays in Devon and London.

@MizJ Some of the midlands are lovely yes.

@Fernapple I like London and I love the villages. Like many places in the world the medium sized places can go either way and tend to be more cookie (biscuit) cutter with more chain retail and restaurants. If I ever hit the lottery I would have a place in the city for the culture and a place in the country for the forests, gardens, etc.

@MizJ Agreed fully.

How very lovely. Some of my rose bushes have bds, despite a two year neglect. I will try and do a little this summer.
