Don’t let it get out of hand. They are quite capable of taking over large areas! They are also nearly impossible to get rid of once they get into an area.
It is a fun plant, and I pull/cut those sprouts up to 10ft from the trunk! My first seed pods were spiral, but never since, and pods seem to appear only every other year.
I have been trying to get rid of a trumpet vine for 35 years. they are hardy and invasive. Make sure you have root barriers to stop it's spread. It was too late for me since it had spread the length of my fence before I moved in. But on the upside it is pretty and the hummingbirds love it.
The trick is to deny it sunlight with mulch or planting. I killed mine off with cardboard Amazon packaging. Every time I saw a shoot, I denied it sun. Took 4 years of persistence. But that is me. Persistant.
Just be aware that it is a strangler of trees & is non native. But it won't kill your house & the hummingbirds love 'em.
It was planted strategically.
Just beautiful! I love that plant, as do hummingbirds!

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
