My son and daughter in law went a step further and put rainbarrels and runoff pipes on the barrels,

They are in Jupiter Florida and quite proud of their 'food forest",,,let me know if you want to touch base with them.

It is a great idea....if you get much rain. Alas...here in So. Calif, we have to collect dew in barrels and keep buckets in the sink to collect ''warming up'' water. Wish I could do that, though....

I have seen that a few times, but to do that in my sloping yard is beyond my construction skills.
