It is time for the flowering of one of my favourite roses. Rosa mundi, also known as Rosa gallica 'Versicolor' It has a really great scent, it is one of the oldest of roses, and one of those traditionally used to make rose oils and scents.

They smell wonderful, it is one of the traditional scent makers roses.

Posted by FrostyJimBerries do very well in Alaska... I'm growing strawberries, honeyberries, raspberries, gooseberries, and black currants ...oh and rhubarb too - it goes well with berries in a pie, jam, or cobler!
