We can only grow it indoors in the UK so not much good for lepidoptera!

The flower is very tough. Almost as cooled wax.

The common name for Hoya is Wax Flower.
It is successfully pollinated by just a few Sphingiids

Do you have a photo of the entire plant? I'm not familiar.

Sure. Here it is.
The one with the big waxy leaves

@Leafhead , tropical. And beautiful butterflies attached. Thanks.

Hoyas are so expensive up here in New York, yet so beautiful.

Hell, everything's expensive in New York 😛

@Leafhead Not everything. And I am not in NYC, but in th rural upstate area.

I saw a monarch on the butterfly bush yesterday. I was pruning and it just kept on feeding.

Love Monarchs. I raised and released over 100 butterflies this year, a new record. I have seen 25 species of butterfly, 2 species of moth and the Ruby Throated Hummingbird. This has been a watershed year for new and interesting butterflies

@Leafhead , Ruby throated humming birds are plentiful here. They become very tame. When I'm working the flowers they hover over me and try to run me away. They also become possessive of the feeders and run other birds away.

@freeofgod
They are plentiful here too. So are Hummingbird Moths, like Hemaris thysbe and Hyles lineata

Lovely flower . I guess it's the nectar that attracts the moths .

Oozes nectar at night.
Very fragrant too

Here's a little sample

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
