Today I was blessed with SIX (2 ton?) dump truck loads of goat bedding which will now compost until next year and turn itself into very rich topsoil. It was free. The "crazy goat lady" (a self imposed moniker) is a good friend and she was thrilled to get rid of the stuff. Out of curiosity, what are some of the best acquisitions folks have made for their own gardens or food prep supplies? And how did it happen?
I picked up several large, round bales of hay to use around the base of my apple trees. A farmer had left them in a neighbour's yard and he wanted them removed as the outside had gone black, so I used my backhoe and took them to my back yard and spread them out, only took me an hour.
Two or three cubic metres of concrete to make an ornamental pond.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
