close ups of the vanilla pollination experiment, see the torn away flowers that I've hand-pollinated. Still not seeing whether there was a success but it's a good sign they didn't fall off entirely.

Is that a bud or a pod in the lower left of the 2nd and 4th pictures? It looks kind of nobby and the other buds are smooth.

I learned more from experimenting then from any books I ever read. I pruned back weigelas and idle stuck the the short limbs in the ground. Every damn one of them rooted and had to be transplanted out 😟
