The iris are out in full force. Ended up with a bunch in the house as I had to dig a lot of them out to remove an invasive weed. Reset part of them, thinned them out and gave away a BUNCH. Still have more to move but will have to wait a few days as it is quite wet now.

Irises are odd looking flowers. I also have a bunch of white ones and some, starting to wilt, purple ones.

I like the purple ones. Mine were originally a kind of peach/salmon color but they started reverting to the root stock and spreading until I have this wall of white iris.

@DotLewis I saw some more today at another location. They are bearded Irises. I also seem to have more of these each year and, yes, more seem to be white.

@DotLewis , the soil I grew in turned everything purple.

So beautiful! I have mine in pots but need to thin them and can't decide where to move them.

Oh, how lovely. That is an impressive planting. My clump of irises have distinct flower "bumps" at the top, so pretty soon I should see some blossoms , too. The weather here has been quite cool here by the lake in New York. Thanks for posting those photos.

They are beautiful. They must be very hardy to withstand the temperatures you get.

CeliaVL Level 7 May 21, 2019

They are tough for sure. Plus they like being barely under ground. They bloom the best when their tubers are breaking the surface of the earth. I never clean up the iris bed at the end of summer, I think they should have the dead leaf cover to protect them thru winter, although they really don't seem to care.

Wow! Those are beautiful. My irises were terribly disappointing this year. Only a few blooms and tne wind and rain were particularly hard on them.

Beautiful. I love irises but you do have to thin them regularly. If you have some spare pots you can put then outside for sale. I did that once and they sold fast. I was surprised. I made some money and recycled spare pots and flowers.
