I’ve really enjoyed a new freedom to plant and grow in my new garden - which we’ve been in since August. The very first thing I did - literally - was to get some help with building some raised beds.

I planted neat rows of lettuces (lollo Rosso, and the standard round jobs) and spinach in one and then parsley, tarragon, coriander, oregano, marjoram, thyme, lemon balm, basil, wasabi rocket and a fringe round the edges of dill in another. Lastly I put purple broccoli and sprouts in the last with a row of sunflowers in the back.

Overall it’s been massively successful. The coriander has gone bonkers but that’s great: I use it as a vegetable just about. The brassicas got a bit attacked by something leaving little caterpillars that munched them a bit. I don’t want to use chemical insecticides so we’ve tried to just pick them off which was surprisingly successful.

Anyway. A few pictures

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
