Those beautiful tulips at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Oregon reminded me that there is someplace I can go for a wonderful April tulip show. Filoli is a large, old estate garden somewhere west of Standford university and they plant a load of tulips fresh every year. Must be nice to have the kind of horticultural army they employ. Here are some photos from past years. It has been a few years since I've been so I will make it a point to go this year before I get my knee replaced in April.
Darn, we planning to go visit Filoli this Thursday which seemed to offer the most opportunity for a break in the weather. But now that garden is closed too. We have a shelter in place warning with no unessential exceptions. At least I can work in my own gardens and walk the dogs in the neighborhood.
That last pic looks like it came straight out of the Wizard of Oz!
