In Colorado we don't plant seeds outside until after Mother's Day. We had snow today, and will have more the entire month till mid May. I usually start my garden indoors. Culinary Garden is my specialty...but I love a succulent garden which grows well outside in the turbulant weather. Winters over pretty good too, just have to cover it.

I am in Montreal, here the end of May beginning of June is the norm, before that it is too unpredictable to take your plants outdoors and get your garden going.

I start my seeds indoors around 4 to 6 wks before last frost, to get a jump on things. I replant into 4" pots at around Mother's Day as well and put outdoors. By then, they have 4 to 6 sets of leaves, and are head and shoulders above those that I see germinating outdoors.
I mainly plant Milkweed, but this year I'm also planting Golden Alexander and Agastache.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
