I'm back after my short drive out to Las Vegas. According to my car temp it got as hot as 120, guess who spent a lot of time indoors and didn't do much sight seeing? Overall I was lucky, so it was a good trip. Looking forward to doing it again soon.

I bought for the car a sugar boiling thermometer many years ago as temprratures over 52.5°C turn digital thermometer's screens black & illegible.
When it gets that warm I open the window to cool things down.

the shows won't be starting until July/August but I did enjoy the food. Wolfgang Puck's makes a great prime ribeye. Now that some of the other dining places are opening, next trip I'm going to try some of the other places.
@Lauren I had to try 6 or 7 places before I found the best one, Some places tried to open with a full menu, so the quality went down, since they were using cheaper grades of meat. Wolfgang's opened with a very limited menu and stayed with the same grade of meat. The menu used to be 4 pages, now it's an 8.5 x 14 on one side. We'll have to see about changing that no great steak streak
I guess if it's honed down to the excellent stuff then a limited menu is worth it... but geez. Good to know that you're safe! This heat is ugh!!!!!

Silly me drove almost 1000 miles on Saturday, so I wouldn't hit rush hour traffic in DFW not realizing it was Sunday when I would hit DFW. Retirement does have some drawbacks, but I'll live with them.
@glennlab Sounds like you just wanted to get home! Almost 1000 miles in one day?! Good to know you made it safely home!
@MichelleGar1 Normally I would have deposited my excess cash at the credit union just down the road from the casino, but it was closed Sat and Sunday, so I really didn't feel comfortable doing any sightseeing on the way back.
@glennlab Gotcha, I wouldn't want to sightsee with a lot of cash on me too!
Glad you had a good time Glenn. Texas probably feels cool after that.
