American possums are hideous. Australian possums are gorgeous.

This is a brushtail posssum. They're protected species here in Australia. This little guy (Gus we called him) used to come thro the cat-flap in the door and steal the dogs food. He became so tame, we could pat him. My dog just wanted to play with him.
