I keep noticing so many that look at the memes & not only never comment, but are even too stingy to "like". C'mon, folks. If you were even a bit entertained, provoked or engaged, can it hurt y'all to press the dang like button! I won't expect engagement from you guys, tho it would help you all out points-wise, but you may not care about that. But just as a basic sign of respect for all those posting for you! Geez, tis the fuckin' season!

No like for you!

Lutherzme Level 7 Dec 19, 2018

Lmao!

I appreciate and enjoy your posts. That goes for all of you. Sometimes my brain is just tired and I have nothing to offer.

Livinlife Level 8 Dec 19, 2018

But, you usually leave some kind of like. I don't always have something to say, as hard as that is to believe! & even tho I get no points for it anymore, I am maxed out, I give likes out to help others!

@phxbillcee I try to do that too to encourage others. Just wanted to let you know why I may not have more to offer

@Livinlife that is not only fine but understandable. I'm an extroverted mouth, I almost always have something to say, even if not always witty (tho it usually is, LOL!). That's why I had to learn to fight! But not everyone is me (thank dog!). &, btw, you were definitely not one of the ones I was referring to in this post! You do fine, dear!

@phxbillcee lol you are definitely witty. You've made me laugh many times. Thanks for that!

@Livinlife Just doin' my job, ma'am!

A sign of respect, exactly. You have always been generous with likes, but some people can't be bothered, only takes a second. Xoxo,

I always " like " if I see something that I like . Some things I see and I don't care for , and still like bcz someone put the effort to share and bring something into the table .

There are things that not only I don't like but I also find hideous , cheap , drama out of place , degrading to women and men , sad , and a shame to see in a site that I expect better . Those memes or posts I avoid . And if still I run to it some how , I can't " like it ".

Pralina1 Level 8 Dec 20, 2018

As I replied to @Robert Martin below, posts that one doesn't appreciate or that anger one, that's a valid reason to pass on by, I totally understand that. My reason for posting is more for the "lookey lou's" that never hit the like button & never comment. I just feel that that is kinda rude & unappreciative.

@phxbillcee I agree .

6

A lot of times I do comment if I like it. If not I don't reply.

TheGreatShadow Level 8 Dec 19, 2018

You were most assuredly NOT who I was singling out! You do participate, & comment far more than you post, which is more than cool. It keeps posts alive! No, you're golden, bro!

@phxbillcee Thanks!

@TheGreatShadow Quite welcome, bro. It's the truth.

5

Just to illustrate, so far there are 16 views, let's say 15 'cause I may be one. 6 comments & 5 "clicks", & 3 of those that commented also clicked. See what I mean! Sorry, folks, that is just sad, as an orange dude with weird hair once said!

phxbillcee Level 9 Dec 20, 2018

How can you tell how many people have seen it?? Does it show up someplace?

@scurry Check out "Recent Visitors", right-hand column near the top.

@phxbillcee Ah! I see it now. Thanks. smile001.gif

5

They're not paying attention, out of 6 other visitors, only three gave a shit.

glennlab Level 8 Dec 19, 2018

&, so far, that is a very high proportion. Even with my best if I get a quarter of 20-30 views as likes, I feel I scored!

@phxbillcee same here

What erks me is the one's who post but don't bother checking any other posts. They may like something sometimes, but for the most part they only want to drop off a meme.
I saw one girl actually comment one time and said so to her.. but she posts daily.
For us with higher levels don't even get points for likes, but when you see 10 Lookers and two likes, it's discouraging.
Then there's the ones who never, never reply to comments... I pass them up and try not to even look at their posts.

Captnron59 Level 9 Dec 20, 2018

Am I supposed to reply to this??? LOL!

When I can, I try to look at other posts if they look interesting. But one only has so much time unless you're retired or something, plus my neck and other body parts will make me pay if I'm at the computer too long.

3

If I look, I touch the buttons. It's all fair in love and war.

mistymoon77 Level 8 Dec 20, 2018

You can look at me!!! (& touch my buttons!)

3

Okay Bill, I'm sure I do that sometimes, I will try to do better.

kenriley Level 8 Dec 20, 2018

Thanks, but you were not the target for this post, you know that, I hope!

@phxbillcee I didn't really think I was a target, but I'm covering my bases. lol

3

I skip the Like button for about 25% of what I see posted because I have either seen it before or I don't like it because it is not humorous (to me) or offends me. For the other stuff I always use the Like button and I will also write a comment if I can think of something witty.

ATDayHiker Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

You are definitely not one of those I am referencing. You do participate, & I can only ask one to participate on posts that interest them for whatever reason. I "like" most posts & replies because I want to "Share the wealth", tho I get no points for it anymore, & as an "attaboy" for taking the time to be involved. I've done that since I joined.

3

Only after a "dislike" button is provided so both positive AND negative feedback can be administered. Seriously, some of this shit sucks ... so maybe that is why you are getting no response?

AtheistInNC Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

You know where the door is. & there is a "dislike" option, as evidenced by my reaction to your comment!

@phxbillcee
you asked; I answered truthfully. Not my fault you can't handle the truth.

And since the "I'm mad" button still provides points to you as an interaction (and doesn't take them away as it should), I'm not going to use it and put you up a level. Deal with it.

Edited

@AtheistInNC Yeah, can't handle the truth, what a joke. & like I give a flyin' fuck what you do. As I said, you know where the door is, if you so choose, won't hurt my feelers!
(& as if I need you to put me up a level! It is to laugh!)

Edited

@AtheistInNC when you reach a certain level of points reactions no longer give you points.

3

I've been thinking the same thing... I call them lurkers - no comment, no like... They watch the movie then leave without paying or even saying thank you ....

Guilty! My brain likes a lot of these posts, but my thumbs don't care. I'll do better, I promise!

Papa1965 Level 4 Dec 20, 2018

Thanks for posting this Bill

Ah ha! It sounds like you just answered something I've been wondering about getting to level 8. smile009.gif And yes, okay, I'll fess up that I'm guilty of that crime sometimes. I often scold myself for not taking easy points, but really, what challenge would that provide? Right? smile009.gif As for being entertained or thinking it's a meme worthy of viewing, you usually can't tell from the thumbnails and ambiguous intro lines, so there's that. Certainly, I wouldn't look and not respond if I considered it a sign of disrespect to do so! But now I know you can see me not responding so geez, under pressure of scrutiny! Yiiikes!

daylily Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

Sure, when you hover over the "like" button it lists who actually did "like". You have posted & commented, so I am not singling you out here at all.

@phxbillcee I didn't think you were. smile001.gif

3

Just because I don't comment doesn't mean I didn't like the meme. If I like it, I'll react to it, almost always with a haha.

RobertMartin Level 7 Dec 19, 2018

The only thing I'd say is, if you liked it at all, just hit that like button. It helps you & the poster, & is only fair payment for your entertainment. Comments can be hard to come up with many times, many folks don't feel comfortable "speaking", so I don't insist on that, but a simple "click" if you liked a post at all is not too much to ask, imo!

Now, if one doesn't like a post, don't like it & pass it by if you want to give no points to the poster. Or, if you really disagree, go ahead & say so, I just ask to keep it to the meme & not the poster. Everybody has different triggers & we all can't be expected to know, recognize or even care about them. remember, all, bad taste is encouraged! If something comes up that you think is way out of line, feel free to PM me. (I am one of the Mods here) If reasonable I will see what I can do, but, remember, your "trigger/butthurt" is someone else's rib-tickler! Be reasonable!

Apathy is strong with some. And not just here - in Life!!

I try to comment or at lease react with a "like" or "laugh" or whatever is appropriate.
But I see posts to which I have literally no reaction. Those ones, admittedly, i just pass by.

scurry Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

& those you should pass by & not give your approval to. You, however, do react, respond & even post. I give you the Official Bill Seal of Approval! LOL!

@phxbillcee Yay!!! I'm honoured! smile002.gif

@scurry Yes, you are...LOL!

2

I'm guilty of this...Mainly because I've peeked at a few posts that were kind of sexually crude and it just wasn't my thing, but if I don't think something is funny I don't usually hit like. I only see it as being a "meme grinch" in this group if you look and never engage or contribute...other than that it's just what I personally find humor in or find entertaining smile001.gif

BohoHeathen Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

Totally understandable, that's why they make vanilla, yada-yada...But you do contribute, you don't have to do anything but pass by the ones that don't move you. I just find it hard to believe that so many faces that come up in Recent Visitors, over & over never find anything they may like!

Lol...I'll usually comment with something like "yikes" or "ewww"...

2

Guilty. Mostly because I've seen them on other sites and use up my laugh gas on that meme. When I see the again on here.....meh.

Okay you are great your ideas and posts are the best. Happy holidays.

Mokvon Level 7 Dec 20, 2018

It isn't just me I'm speaking about. It affects anyone who takes the time to post. But, thanks for your enlightening input.

@phxbillcee i know of what you speak. Acknowledgement other then a damn a thumbs up is nice.

@Mokvon Oh, man, I am so glad you changed your photo! It always seemed as if you were yelling with that previous one. No offense meant, just the way it struck me.

@phxbillcee just a bad night at work

1

Ok honey, I got your back...

Freespirit64 Level 8 Dec 22, 2018

I used to take offense when I'd get a positive comment but no like, until I realized comments give you more points than likes. I still don't understand why people do that (I'd appreciate it if others could provide some insight on that). If I give a positive comment, I always give a like. If I don't care for the post, I will sometimes comment tactfully why, but usually I just move on. As far as posting without looking at other posts, at times I'm guilty, but I regularly though admittedly intermittently make the effort, though one only has so much time unless you are retired or something.

Rossy92 Level 8 Dec 21, 2018

I feel commenting counts as definite recognition, so can preclude hitting like. I usually do both. My point is more the ones that, on a steady basis, look, possibly "acquire" (which we almost all do with memes) but never acknowledge,...ever. Just seems disrespectful, to me.

& I'm on disability, so I have far too much time!

@phxbillcee I just post stuff I think is funny. I crack myself up. Anyone else is a side benefit!

@Freespirit64 I envy you...I think.

@Freespirit64 You've got a decent track record!

1

Why do you care?

BeeHappy Level 8 Dec 20, 2018

Should be obvious. Folks go to the trouble to post &/or comment, others look & enjoy, it only seems fair to give at least an attaboy as recognition. I'm sure you appreciate participation in your Groups. I feel it's just basic respect, obviously many don't feel that way.

@phxbillcee Sure it's nice to be recognized but I don't follow up on the visitors. They may be there for all kinds of reasons or even accidentally. I don't care if they acknowledge what I've posted. I post for myself and anyone else who is interested, whether they hit "like" or not. I am not interested in points or their respect. When I visit a group I only acknowledge (like) what I actually like. Many times I don't comment (even when I have a comment) because of my particular state of mind at the time. Then there are times like now when I feel compelled to comment. This is a community of many different personalities. Maybe have respect for that. Sorry if this offends Bill... but your post sounds, to me, like ego, point gathering with a touch of bullying.

@BeeHappy Really, you must not have read any of the comments/replies below. Believe what you want. Have a great day!

1

You’re right. I’ll work on that.
