In 1985 I was there with a Girlfriend and made the mistake of getting gas while she went to the restroom . Two Puerto Ricans began verbally abusing me and then pulled out knives ...... Trouble is they had brought knives to a Gun Fight . We all had a Mexican Standoff and then went our separate ways . Could have been very ugly .

This does not surprise me. Glad you all stayed safe.
A section of the highway is known as the dead zone because of the high accident rate. It's supposed to be haunted as well because of damage to missing graves.
