While I was married to my second husband we bought a beautiful male German Shepherd to live with us. Rowdy became my special friend since my husband often worked late. Rowdy got into the habit of sleeping on the bed with me with his head on my husband's pillow. but we didn't spoon. I thought it was cute and it was comforting until the night my husband came in to go to sleep and told the dog to move. Rowdy opened one eye (gave my husband the side-eye) and then closed it. Two more "move" commands didn't even get the side eye. In frustration by husband put his hand under Rowdy's back to give him a shove and got a "side growl". That was it, Rowdy got moved very suddenly and was banished to another sleeping room, and I got an earful that had me grinning the whole time. I understand how this malamute feels.
