@Lizard_of_Ahaz Having read more of him I question why he is in the picture..he has written books, done Tv and been a publicist for science, but does not seem to have contributed any major theory or advance in knowledge.

@ShadowAmicus Yeah education and interest in either science or reading there is pretty low from what I hear.... The most successful exit you have had so far is from common sense.
@Lizard_of_Ahaz there is a trend in schools to invest heavily in the lowest achievers, but damn little to enhance the education of high achievers - but it is the high achievers who will eventually bring the greatest improvements to society and perhaps more investment in their education would be beneficial
