I'm old too and wore bra in the 50s but I sure don't remember blow up ones. I do remember the funny pointed things but for some reason I don't think mine were ever pointed. At least I hope they weren't that's weird looking.

@Lorajay i saw these ads for inflatable bras in the back of magazines.
