On the same page of that link is a 2 minute clip of the Chang e lunar probe landing on the dark side of the moon. Not exactly a house on fire.. but pretty cool to watch none the less. 🙂

When I see terms such as “weird star explosion” and “brightest supernova ever seen”, I look for explanations by people who take electricity into account. Standard model people do not. The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) udoes.

The livescience article continues, "In a typical supernova, the radiation is less than 1% of the total energy,” and “But in SN2016aps, we found the radiation was five times the explosion energy of a normal-sized supernova.”

Standard model folk make predictions and the universe does something else. Surprise!

I tried going to the site; hit real quick and far too often with click-bait junk. Perhaps go to the source and copy and past it here?

Copying for pasting is real difficult when clickbait is flashing and changing.

@yvilletom Based on the title of the article (sounded like click bait) I didn't bother following the link. Figured I'd read comments (like your later comment (thanks)) to get the just of the story.
