Solitons have applications in optics, biology, magnetism, and nuclear physics, among other areas. I mean, the Klein-Gordon equation was one of the first models for exotic matter! "Although it turned out that modeling the electron's spin required the Dirac equation, the Klein–Gordon equation correctly describes the spinless relativistic composite particles, like the pion."

If you're into Integro-Differential equations (and their applications), you may have come across these wonderful, yet solitary waves. These nomadic hermits of nature traveling alone, interacting weakly with others of their kind, that can never sit still (hmmm mathematical introverts?).....

One of the most common examples, is the Kortweg-de Vries (KdV) equation "of waves on shallow water surfaces". [en.wikipedia.org]
One of my favorite sets of solitons are produced as solutions to the Nonlinear Schrödinger equation.
You know, for multi-photon physics.... or nonlinear optics.... depending on your perspective thanks to awesome women such as Maria Goeppert Mayer: [en.wikipedia.org]

Have you seen any of the podcasts with Eric Weinstein in them. I found the interview between Joe Rogan and Eric Weinstein and the presentation Eric presented on a presentation at Oxford on April 1st interesting. I would be interested in hearing what you think.
Looking into it.
Posted by racocn8I saw some articles on meteorite composition and ended up with this picture.

Posted by SergeTafCamNot too long ago I had the opportunity to take a couple of pictures of a peacock's feather.
