LEICESTER CITY beat Manchester City 1-0 to lift the Community Shield at Wembley on Saturday! Well done to “The Foxes”, the first time in their history to win the title FA Cup Champions earlier this year too, by beating Chelsea 1-0. My son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons, who live in Leicester, were amongst the 20,000 crowd lucky enough to get tickets to the match, and have had a great weekend of celebration in London..visits to The Tower of London and the Natural History and Science museums yesterday…and two nights in a top hotel!

I’m delighted for them all and am now looking forward to their visit to Northern Ireland to see me next weekend!

Well played Leicester. Am I the first to point out that it was the Community shield that they won on Saturday by beating Man City. They beat Chelsea to win in the FA Cup back in May.

Ok…you probably realise I’m not a football fan normally…but do believe I actually knew that somewhere in the back of my head! 😅😁. Thanks I’ve altered the text to make it more accurate

Yes the Thai owners at Leicester are well respected and universally loved by the fans …the current owner’s father Vichaai was tragically killed along with his personal assistant and two pilots in a helicopter accident at the King Power ground after a home match in Sept 2019…the whole city mourned his loss.
