Yesterday Morten Harket, lead singer of a-ha was interviewed by Janice Forsyth on BBC Radio Scotland. He talks about a-ha’s new album and film True North (their 13th) due out next month and how the inspiration to write these songs stems from their long term concerns regarding climate change and the environment.
Fascinating man, extremely underrated band who have a huge worldwide fan base and are by far Norway’s biggest music export with music sales of over 100 million, yet hardly ever get anything played on U.K. radio, and who are even sometimes called “One hit wonders” by the less knowledgeable music press. Their mega hit Take On Me which has overshadowed a quite extraordinary musical output over 40 years…has been a curse and a blessing in equal measures I’d say, but without a doubt if they were either a British or American band these guys would be household names up there with the very top bands such as the ones they actually inspired…such as Coldplay, Keane etc. U2, Morrisey, Oasis are avowed fans too.

Posted by MattHardyA Boris promise is just a lie that hasn't happened yet. Whatever Sue Grey says, no way is Boris going to admit he lied and resign.
