It is quite simple. UK Tories have been plagued with Brexit ideas pushed forward from extremists in their party for decades. PMs even departed partly because of these difficulties. In desperation Cameron allowed an unfair referendum .No provision was made for close results. They gave up working as a broad church reasonable and consensus seeking party. The referendum result was unexpected and the declared brexiteers took advantage of the shock the country was in to pass ‘unthought out promises’ and some illegal practices past the general public. In other words the Conservatives were caught up in the wrong way of solving all this. It relied on a small but growing faction to push it through. The Labour Party reacted in some wrong doing also particularly about promises. However they have always and will continue to do things the right way all the time trying to keep both factions on their side and giving wherever possible a choice in solving the problem. They could only do this as they were not in a position to take control of the way forward. I would point out that NO-ONE can see into the future and whatever the politicians propose has to be taken sensitively I.e KNOWING that anything could still happen. If you want to comment you have to avoid talking about any future certainties unfortunately . Just talk about the proper law abiding and fair way of doing things.
