My interest in Kazakhstan was triggered by Marje's post yesterday, so I researched as my knowledge was very skimpy.Yes, many ethnicities, among them Mongolian. That made sense, because I enjoy the music of a Kazakh group The Nuans who identify as Mongolian. The word 'Elim' in yesterday's Kazakh song means 'land' or 'country', I found out, and then stumbled upon a roaring patriotic song Elim Menin sung by none other than the group members of The Nuans ... but credited as Alashuly group. Hope you enjoy, I know I did!
By the way, the 3 group members are all classically trained, and my previous knowledge of them was only in that genre. What versatility!
