Omnia call themselves a Pagan Rock band or alternatively a Celtic Rock band, and are from The Netherlands. They base their music around Celtic folklore, earth cycles and traditional musical instruments. This original song they wanted to call “the Bilbo Boogie”, but were unable to do so due to copyright laws, so they have called it Fee Ra Huri ...then jokingly added they would not say what that actually meant! Here they perform live in Cologne in 2012.
Wonderful!
Yes....they are!
@Marionville What was the woman on the left playing?
@rogerbenham That woman is a man called Daphyd...he’s a Dutch musician who plays a slide-didgeridoo which Is constructed of carbon-fibre and was his own idea to extend the original length of a traditional didgeridoo to increase the resonance. When not performing with Omnia he gives tutorials on how to play the sliding and the traditional didgeridoo.
I first saw music like this at the Faerieworld festival in Eugene, OR, in 2010. I think the headline group may have been Rune. Like this, excellent and different. Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed...there are a few similar bands around, another one is Rapalje which is also Dutch.
