Italian singer/songwriter Lucia Dalla wrote this song in tribute to legendary Italian tenor Enrico Caruso, who left southern Italy to go to America where he found fame. The song is full of the yearning and longing for home that most immigrants experienced, especially in those days before air travel, when travelling overseas took days or even weeks by sea.. Here Dalla, on the piano, is joined by that other legendary Italian tenor Luciano Pavarotti in this beautiful song - Caruso.

Yes ! Yes to the emotions and the pain that this song brings . I feel every word , every time , every note .
I have stop listening to it few years ago . It hurts .
Maybe once a year , if cooking , if rested , if a bottle of wine , if feeling strong .
I am not going to click on it Ms Marion , rough week at work and can’t take it tonight .
But yes . One of the best performance recorded , and a meaningful beautiful song for all who are missing their land and their tribe .
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Love it!

Yes...I really love this song.

I cannot claim to be a fan of Pavarotti and much preferred Dalla's voice.

That’s fine...it’s ok to not like some voices.
