Although I dismiss all notions of angels being real - out of hand…I still have no objections to the use of the word in songs…and there are lots of songs with Angel or angels in the title ..Angel Eyes for just one instance. Here’s a great one called Like An Angel Passing Through My Room…written by Benny Andersen of ABBA for Anna-Frid to sing, it was the only ABBA song written for only one voice. Nevertheless, the famous Norwegian gay choir Oslo Fagottkor performs it beautifully here as a choral piece.

I have a distant relative who wrote the article on angels for the Catholic Encyclopedia. He was also at Vatican II. I speak of him in the present tense but he is probably gone.

Light reading I'm sure. Edit: Godfrey (my distant cousin) was a canon lawyer so I would guess his writing is rather dense.
