The EBU…the European Broadcasting Union..was founded in Devon, England in 1950 and is an alliance of public service media organisations. It has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and is now made up of 115 member organisations in 56 countries, and 31 associate members from a further 20 countries. It’s best known for its Eurovision Song Contest, held annually in May, but it promotes cooperation between member organisations in news, drama and the arts on many other levels. On its 50th anniversary in February 2000 they celebrated its formation in music and dance from member organisations and this was part of Norway’s contribution….Velvet - a-ha…with Anneli Drecker on backing vocals.
…..this song written by Pal and Lauren Waaktaar-Savoy, was included on the soundtrack of the US movie “One Night At McCool’s”
