I thought we’d return to Italy again today with a song from Toto Cutugno which won The Eurovision Song Contest for them in 1990 - Insieme: 1992 (Together: 1992).
….the song is about uniting Europe and the inclusion of new European countries into the Eurovision family after the fall of communism.

I agree with the sentiment. I would that Europe unite but each country seem to want to still keep their individuality, resulting so far I Britain leaving and country differences being retained. Mind you, De Gaulle was right about Britain in that they probably were not a good fit and predictably demanded special status. France and Germany are so much stronger than others, they pull too much weight.

The current ultra nationalism sentiment is rife…and history has taught us where that leads. Sadly we ignore history at our peril!
@Marionville Yes, there seems to be a lot of countries going fascist. I cannot imagine Europe will survive too many break aways or will there be a fascist grouping within the union? With the USA likely going under right wing control soon I just hope Canada stays civilised but Trudeau is becoming more and more dictatorial.
