A few times in the past I’ve posted Celtic music from outside of Scotland & Ireland, from Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia etc…all around the westernmost fringes of Europe in fact, and even from the Eastern seaboard of North America where ancient Celts travelled to and settled. Today I’m posting this clip from a travelogue series which BBC Alba (Scots Gaelic language channel) made a few years ago in 2018 called “Port”. It’s self explanatory as there are subtitles in English …but it follows two traditional Gaelic language singers, one from Scotland (Julie Fowlis) & one from Ireland (Muireann NicAmhlaoibh) as they travel on a musical journey around other Celtic regions in Europe…in this episode it’s Brittany on the northwest coast of France…
