I love the incorporation of the traditional wiri and haka into the modern music, celebrating the land of his heritage. "We are planted in the soil of our ancestors."

Odd to have such displays of weapons and suggestions of aggression. Wonderful scenery.

I expect historically the Māori tribes had to defend themselves just like any other group of people anywhere in the world.

Māori are warriors as the British redcoats frequently learnt. Sadly the Yanks also used this knowledge in Vietnam to have them fight people they were more akin to than the Yanks.
White racialism in NZ was very prevalent & it wasn't until the 60's that their artistry started to be recognized particularly in their carvings.
