From Cuba the Group Sintesis, a group that expands into 3 Centuries or more of Music across Multiple Continents and Oceans. I got their CD "Yoruba Celebration"!!! I am not Sorry to say... It is My Church!!!!...without muhammed or jesus or buddha. Enjoy on this Earthling Sunday. Celebrate!!!!
This new to me group made me think of the English group Steeleye Span. Their music is nothing alike, the songs even less. Eventually it dawned on me that they both are primal in their abilities. My body responds to it.
Thanks brother.
This group been around for over 25 years.... but it is one of many Gems in Cuba with little outlet in the USA. And you are absolutely right... Body responds to it so much that I wrote this... their sound moves you.... If your spirit is "tuned"... consider yourself lucky if you are "Tuned" with the sounds of this Earth Brother!!!!!
bodies moved by the soul
had no constraint
they dance to the gods
of rhythm and beat
so it seems
spirits getting on their feet
the dead open the eyes
and muster an earthling grin
and as the body receives a lift
the earth shakens
behind the drummers beat
this is a holy land
for different beings
white devils running
as the voice warns...
you don't own this

@GipsyOfNewSpain I once was allowed to live for six years on sacred Australian First Nations People's former burial ground. I think I must have been in tune but then a probable drunk or drugged xtian came along and tried to kill me.
@FrayedBear Those xtians keep listening to god's voice and doing the devil's deed.
Wow, this brings back memories. The yoruba culture came to Cuba. Puerto Rico and other Caribbean island during the slave trade. Though converted to Catholicism, they practiced their African religion and used the Catholic saints associated with the attributes of their gods. I heard Yoruba celebration and associated it with Santaria.
Love this music and the culture, Santaria, not so much. But to each their own.
Really enjoyed both of these posts...especially the second one. Thanks for the intro.
I just added 2 more sister!
@GipsyOfNewSpain Thanks, I’ll take a listen.
@Marionville I just added My Favorite the fifth one.... Aguanileo.
@GipsyOfNewSpain Yes it’s a really nice one...great beat they all have.
