We lived on the island nation of Bermuda for 8 wonderful years, very remote and very beautiful. I miss it very much sometimes.

visited Bermuda on a Canadian Navy ship (Restigouche) many decades ago.
it is a beautiful island.
what i remember most is almost getting run over by a bus. several of us from the ship rented motor scooters & decided to ride to Hamilton from St.Georges. they drive on the opposite side of the road there, at least they were then. anyway, after a few drinks we set off for Hamilton & i somehow drifted over the the right side of the road on a curve just as a bus approached. i was forced off the road & actually scraped against a stone wall. luckily the scooter & i suffered minor damages.

What you mean is they drive on the left hand side as most British Commonwealth countries do, it is the side we drive on in the U.K. There was a highly publicised case of a fatality in England just last year when an American woman, the wife of a military attaché killed a cyclist when driving on the right hand side of the road near an airbase in Suffolk. It caused a diplomatic incident when she did a runner back to the USA claiming diplomatic immunity…which she wasn’t actually entitled to. I think the lady has just done a deal with the British authorities to face a court in the USA , as her requested extradition was initially rejected by US Justice dept.
@Marionville , by driving on the right side i was driving on the left side of oncoming traffic which is the side they drive on.
i remember that case.
