U think the main problem with religious people in general- at least for the 'everyday' believer, is shallowness. She/he doesn't think about the implications of their beliefs. For example, the belief that the world used to be perfect (a question in itself, but for the sake of argument, I'll let that ride) and when sin entered the worls, perfection was lost. The lion laid down with the lamb. all were vegetarians. Things like that. Let's see- exactly what needed to change in order for the lion to become a carnivore... So the DNA changed... Some plants became weeds. How did THAT happen? And so n.

Most of them are strongly discouraged from really thinking about religious or theological matters through disapproval or indoctrination, especially as youngsters. They are encouraged to rationalize, to screw around with the logic.
