YOUR GETTING MOISTURE, we haven't any moisture here for 3 years

1patriot Level 7 Jan 21, 2024

I'm in the tropics, right on the edge. The Tropic of Capricorn runs through Rockhampton, just to the South of where it's due to hit on that map. Had a cyclone already last month which means rivers/ dams are full, ground saturated already so all that rain will run off ie floods. I have a boat anchored in the river and floods are a pain in the arse with all the crap floating down, including boats that have broken their moorings/ anchors. Not to mention probably get rather blowy too, especially if it creeps south..
I may be a busy boy by the end of the week

@puff I live in Moura and am suffering this dammed humidity and heat. it was 27 degrees and 96% humidity at 05.30 this morning. Lucky we have solar or we would be paying our power bill on hire purchase over X amount of years. (which Ergon do not accept, the nasty bastards)
Since Callide power Generator blew its boiler, the price of electricity is going up as fast as the space shuttles.
The rain is welcome though, the road from Biloela to Moura now features several shaded of green.
18 months ago it could have been mistaken for the moon. Bring on the rain, flooded roads are a temporary inconvenience for us as Moura is on elevated land.

@puff Careful in the Fitzroy, you could well be up to your arse in crocodiles. making it hard to concentrate on your boat.

@vocaloldfart Not to mention Bull sharks. Take it easy, know the area. Dug some holes up that way. Clean up on yabbies/ red claw when the creeks flow time. Green as around here and Rocky, all down the coast (flew back Monday, window seat.)
