The Frenzy Over Amazon’s HQ2 Should Be a National Embarrassment
This is why we have poverty and homelessness growing without an end in sight. This is one of if not the richest men/man on Earth. And these 2 cities just paid a multi billion dollar profit company he owns to come to their cities. To the tune of 2 billion. 1.5 from NY and . 5 from DC. That's money out of our pockets to serve our communities each time they are blackmailed by a corporation to draw in a company or to keep one. Yes, keep one. Because somewhere out there there is another city trying to steal our jobs. Have you ever been to either of these cities? Nightmare! Traffic wise. Nightmare! Economically to afford living. I know from being an OTR driver and being in these areas. And I know from people I knew who lived close to and worked in DC. Everyone knows of the high cost in NY in some areas. Prices will be going up with infrastructure modifications to accommodate the growing traffic this company will bring in. Lower income people will be pushed out to further areas and have to drive farther. Or live in vehicles to be close to work. Of all the places he picked 2 of the most jam packed places to locate to. hmmmmm
