Chavez the Radical XXI: Socialism Must Be Created at the Grassroots Level

In this installment of Tatuy TV's "Chavez the Radical," Chavez discussed the role of the commune in the construction of socialism in Venezuela.

“Who in their right mind would say that today Venezuela is a socialist country? No…we’d be fooling ourselves. We’re in a country that still lives in capitalism, it’s just that we’ve started on a path...”

In 2009 Hugo Chávez met with grassroots community activists from Venezuela´s communal councils to discuss the construction of a socialism and the necessity for the development of and articulation between communes.

“It’s something you can’t create by decree. It has to be created at the grassroots level. It’s a creation of the people.”

This new video is in Latin with caption. But well worth the view. It's actually quite brilliant! This is why Chavez will never die! This is why the westernized society wants to bring Venezuela down. This is what they don't want in you mind. This is what can end their game and illusion.

I posted a video a few weeks ago of Max Blumenthal in Venezuela. Well one of a series of his time there. This particular one was of him at a shopping mall in a upper class area of Venezuela looking for "socialism". As he walked around looking for that socialism and mildly mocking the rich folk and workers, what he found was capitalism.

Also a interview of Prof. George Ciccariello-Maher with Professor Richard Wolff as how Chavez won the people over in a means much in the way this new video speaks of. Also mentioning how Venezuela is a capitalist country. And why it has been so hard to overthrow the Chavez and Maduro governments.

While I often bring up my socialist nature and ideology, I would be a fool not to recognize the capital nature of the business aspect engulfing the world. A society of total socialism would take time to iron out all of what has been forced on us over time. But there would always be a need for some resemblance of capitalism for the entire planet to work together towards trade for complete unity.
