Behind the Syrian Network for Human Rights: How an opposition front group became Western media’s go-to monitor

Top media outlets turn to the Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) for figures on deaths and detentions, never noting the group’s seamless connection to Syria’s opposition, the support it receives from states that waged war on the country, or its open lobbying for US military intervention.

(In the past few years, SNHR has been uncritically cited by major news outlets, from The Guardian to The Intercept to The Daily Beast. Western journalists have unquestioningly regurgitated SNHR data to provide statistical heft to gut-wrenching reports on the Syrian government’s alleged abuses.)

I was just talking about The Intercept with GreenAtheist via PM this morning. And the co editor and founder of that news source. While I admire the work of Glenn Greenwald, he allows some of the work from the writers there that tow establishment agenda pass through quite often. This is one of the reasons I hold firm to Consortium News. It's not often I find an article from that source that makes me cringe. Although there are 2 writers there that have, but write very little, or their articles don't make the cut.

This is a problem with even independent news sources. If you have good honest journalist who go get the facts themselves, then allow a journalist who takes information in the manor as in this article that goes against the same facts on an issue, you send away a reader who now believes the establishment narrative. Your site just contradicts itself and the truth. PAY ATTENTION TO THE WRITERS NAME WHEN YOU READ AN ARTICLE! Get to know that journalist. I can tell you from time spent, Max Blumenthal goes out and does his own god dam work. I've posted his work here often, videos and writings. Many, video's, recently from the lions mouth like Venezuela. This is a top notch journalist.

Let this sink for a minute. Last night I'm watching RT as they show some of the very terrorist groups our military and intelligence agencies fund and support in Syria. It might interest you to know that they did and still do the same thing within training. They watch videos of the towers burning and falling while cheering and and screaming, death to America. Do you need that minute?
