The assassination of Qassem Suleimani and the criminalization of US state policy

[wsws.org]

[Now, the practices of Israel—a pariah state from the standpoint of international law—have been adopted by the world’s leading “Western democracies.” Besides the United States, France and Britain both operate their own “kill lists.”]

In other words. Ordinary. We now look over these acts to be ordinary functions of governments. While they are practiced on our own citizens gradually expanding towards higher thefts of rights and democratic practices.

[It should be noted that, despite criticisms of the expediency of killing Suleimani by Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and others, no Republican or Democrat has publicly called the killing a crime or demanded that Trump be impeached or prosecuted for this grave violation of the American Constitution.]

As I brought up a few days ago. Both parties in compliance! The political lips service going on in the media by both parties is simply rhertoric to seduce their tribal supporters.

On the Rick Sanchez shiw last night he had breaking news on the assassination. Reasons were because the general was in Iraq to broker a peace deal between Iraq, Iran, and Saudia Arabia. That can not be tolerated by the deep state. In other words. OIL!

Yup, your country is on broken times. Ethics and morality are forgotten along with civility. Capitalism is rearing its head and showing how nasty it always was because it knows that it will have to be destroyed and it is going to fight to the end since it believes there will be no prisoners taken, only deaths and slaves. Could it just go peacefully? Of course but it's strongest proponents know nothing except wealth accumulation and to them loss of that wealth is death. They are wrong of course but they are deaf and blind.

👍 - the button isn't working. Bushfires affecting mobile internet - currently falling back to the H level of signal which I think is the stage above the CDMA developed in WWII 75 years ago.

@FrayedBear Something has gone amiss in that I keep on getting new notifications of your reply. I have no idea what CDMA is.

@rogerbenham CDMA was the phone system brought in here in Australia in 2000 when they closed down the "old" analogue brick phones. [en.m.wikipedia.org]

@FrayedBear I had a 3 watt bag phone that was analogue and became surplus when they fancified "cell" phones. I needed extra power to make calls living in the bush. Now the folks who bought my place can use their laptop from the ground floor. I had to climb up 18 feet to hope to make a call.

@rogerbenham The world has irrevocably turned.

@FrayedBear But to the better is indeed the question and I'm sorry to say that the transistor has invoked enormous harm. I see no real gains to our civilisation by it and the printed circuits that followed Moore's Law. It has allowed terrible remote controlled killing machines and computers and now smart phones are dumbing down a huge chunk of society.

@rogerbenham Having just watched Mr Creosote, the exploding diner in Monty Pythons "Meaning of Life" then retrieved the clip on YouTube - about four copies of varying length are available, I wonder at your observation's accuracy.
Watching an actor running from a dozen nubile looking half naked young women chasing him on a 50" 4K TV does tend to be persuasive of the advantage of transistors.

@rogerbenham and not forgetting the grand finale of "Christmas in Heaven"

@rogerbenham 😉😁

@FrayedBear Do I enjoy watching MP? Yes I watched two John Cleese interviews last night. Has that bettered my mind? No. Have I gained by being constantly in front of a monitor? No.Was I able to keep myself and my family entertained when I lived for 10 years totally off grid before they had invented most of these toys.
Sorry but no I think of that drone used to murder Iranians in Iraq. That is a very negative consequence of transistors.

@rogerbenham Unfortunately carnivorous inclinations led to thrown rocks, led to bows & arrows and now result in drones. It is not the invention itself that is the problem, just the uses people put the inventions to.
It is a xtian/judeo construct that results in things being labelled good and bad. I am in awe of the quantity of writing accomplished by Victorians in the 1800's & early 1900's. One philosopher writing in the Times apparently issuing more than ¼million letters of response to other's enquiries. Today you are lucky if you find one person who will read ¼ of any single item that you write! And if done on twitter I believe that you are limited to a small number of words.

@rogerbenham One possible benefit is that you can now leave very precise reproductions of the sound of your voice, your musical instrument playing and your image for posterity to learn from.

@FrayedBear Not a Twitter follower. I have delighted in philosophy since Socrates when I was 15 and reading greek plays at university then contact with Hare Krsna and of course Sufis. It has made me as I am. OSHO was fun but it was all known to the Sufis.
Somehow I escape being ravished by the Bulgarian Army. Poor Candide.

@FrayedBear Och I'm not that good and my voice has aged. The Cathedral would no longer want my tenor.

@rogerbenham then it is lost to posterity! Like the never ending story and what was my raison d'etre for broadcasting folk music was the fact that if one person wanted to listen then I would continue broadcasting.

OSHO, Sufiism and your reference to the Bulgarian Army & Candide are over the top of my ken.
I looked up OSHO and Goodreads supplies a small list of quotes. Amongst the first is the reason for not picking flowers which like keeping birds in cages became part of my own self thought out philosophy a long time ago.

Like Lincoln's life being revered for not giving up and thus being evidence of being the pinnacle of success that of Osho disappoints.
Lincoln was not a success - his life was terminated by someone who disagreed with him. Rajneesh, born Chandra Mohan Jain on 11 December 1931 died without even reaching his threescore and ten on 19 January 1990, Imo another failure. One however who has left a number of "cute" life affirmations for people to discuss.

@FrayedBear That's right. but my wife loved him and had been to Pune a few times. She'd quot him and to me it was just Sufi teachings. I was once known in the Canada Green Party as the Hippie Sufi. Their teachings are the mysticism of Islam. I never was interested in Islam. The Bhagavad Gita is another must read as that is Hindi mysticism. I liked chanting with the Hare Krsna's. Candide by Voltaire. Fun book. Read it 50 years ago.
