Maybe because we need rest.
Yeah there are Vegans who are so militant about their cause that they turn people away from even listening. Then there are the meat eaters who attack Vegans just for doing what their conscience tells them is the right thing to do. Wish humans could learn to listen to one another.
@Redheadedgammy yes, the way you present what you say makes a massive difference in how it is received. Plus we all get tired and cranky 
learning to stay stum at that point can be a real bonus sometimes.
Good question.. It's hard to be patient trying to defend our lifestyle against the 'herd.'
